Apparently the caffeine content in coffee is a stimulant that can cause bowel movements that can trigger heartburn or stomach pain. Stimulants are known to encourage contraction of the muscles in the gastrointestinal tract including the colon. When contraction occurs, the remnants of metabolism or waste in the body will be encouraged to be issued.
Coffee should actually relieve constipation and bloating, because caffeine has a diuretic effect. However, if your body cannot tolerate caffeine or dairy products such as creamer that you add to your coffee, it may lead to constipation or bloating. Constipation is not a disease but a complaint arising from a bowel obstruction. Usually said to be constipated if bowel movement frequency of less than 3 times a week with a hard, dry stools and a sense of incomplete when the poop.
Nevertheless, we still can not make coffee as an anti-constipation. Constipation is generally temporary and does not result in serious condition. But that should worry is if the complaint of constipation lasts longer than 2 weeks and every effort has been made. See your doctor immediately if this situation occurs.
